Kaiwara is a small town in the Chintamani taluk of Kolar district, famous for its ancient temples and spiritual heritage dating back centuries. The trek to the hilltop temple at approximately 3,000 ft is a beautiful blend of spiritual pilgrimage and nature adventure. The 5 km trail passes through rocky terrain dotted with ancient caves believed to have been used by sages for meditation — including the famous Vyasa Maharshi cave where the great sage is said to have composed parts of the Mahabharata. The hilltop temple dedicated to Amara Narayana offers stunning panoramic views of the Kolar plateau and surrounding hills. Itinerary

  1. 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM
    Pickup & Drive

    Pickup from designated Bangalore points. Drive 75 km to Kaiwara town in Kolar district.

  2. 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    Trek & Cave Exploration

    Begin the 5 km trek to the hilltop. Visit the ancient Vyasa Maharshi cave and other meditation caves en route. Learn about the spiritual significance from your guide.

  3. 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
    Hilltop Temple & Views

    Reach the Amara Narayana temple at the summit. Offer prayers, explore the temple complex and enjoy panoramic views of the Kolar plateau.

  4. 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
    Descent, Lunch & Return

    Descend to Kaiwara town. Visit the base temples. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive back to Bangalore by afternoon.
