  1. Day 0 — Night
    Departure from Bengaluru

    09:00 PM: Pickup from Bengaluru. Overnight travel to Chikkamagaluru in a comfortable vehicle.

  2. Day 1 — Morning
    Arrival & Trek to Kurinjal Peak

    06:30 AM: Arrive at the homestay in Chikkamagaluru. 07:30 AM: Freshen up. 08:30 AM: Hearty breakfast and pack lunch. 09:30 AM: Begin the Kurinjal trek through dense forest and grassland ridges.

  3. Day 1 — Afternoon
    Summit & Campfire

    01:30 PM: Reach Kurinjal peak — packed lunch with stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats. 02:30 PM: Start descending. 04:30 PM: Return to trek base. 06:30 PM: Reach homestay, relax with tea. 08:30 PM: Campfire dinner with stories of the day.

  4. Day 2
    Samse Tea Estate, Beluru Temple & Return

    08:30 AM: Breakfast and checkout. 10:30 AM: Visit the Samse Tea Estate and the ancient Beluru Hoysala Temple. 01:30 PM: Lunch en route (self-sponsored). Late evening: Reach Bengaluru.

Dos & Don'ts

  • Build trek fitness before the trip — 10 km on demanding ridge terrain
  • Carry original government photo ID — mandatory for forest entry
  • Wear sturdy trekking shoes with good grip — rocky and root-laden trail
  • Carry at least 2 litres of water — limited refill points
  • Follow the guide's pace strictly on the ridge sections
  • Carry a raincoat — weather can change rapidly in the Ghats

  • Don't carry non-biodegradable packaging inside the forest
  • Avoid monsoon season (June–August) — trail can be dangerously slippery
  • No shouting or music on the trail — active wildlife zone
  • Don't wander off the trail — stay with the group at all times

  • No smoking inside the forest reserve
