Dos & Don'ts

Do
  • Wear trekking shoes with good grip — trail can be wet and rooty
  • Carry at least 2 litres of water — limited refill points on the ridge
  • Start early to make the most of the cool morning forest section
  • Hold on tight during the 4x4 off-road ride — it gets bumpy!
  • Carry a light rain jacket — highland mist can roll in suddenly
  • Bring a camera — the viewpoints and waterfalls are incredibly photogenic
Don't
  • Don't wander off the trail — highland terrain can be disorienting in mist
  • Avoid monsoon season (June–August) — trail becomes slippery and leeches are active
  • Don't litter — leave the forest and waterfalls exactly as you found them
  • Don't swim in restricted zones at the waterfalls — follow guide instructions
  • Don't stand up during the 4x4 off-road ride — stay seated for safety
