Narayanagiri is a scenic hill rising to approximately 3,800 ft in the Kaiwara region, about 80 km from Bangalore. This moderately challenging 6 km trek rewards you with some of the most spectacular sunrise views in the region — the golden light sweeping across the Kolar plateau as the sun rises over the eastern hills is a sight that stays with you long after the trek. The summit hosts an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Narayana, adding a spiritual dimension to the adventure. The trail passes through scrub forest and rocky outcrops, with the final section requiring some scrambling over boulders. Itinerary

  1. 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM
    Pickup & Drive

    Pickup from designated Bangalore points. Drive 80 km to Narayanagiri trek base.

  2. 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    Trek to Summit

    Begin the 6 km ascent through scrub forest and rocky terrain. The final section involves scrambling over boulders. Reach the summit and visit the ancient Narayana temple.

  3. 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    Summit Views & Temple

    Enjoy panoramic views of the Kolar plateau and surrounding hills. Explore the temple, offer prayers and capture photographs.

  4. 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
    Descent, Lunch & Return

    Descend to the base. Lunch break at a local restaurant. Drive back to Bangalore by afternoon.
